Consciousness and Awareness

Who is aware of whom? Who are you? Did you exist before you were born? Are we our mental faculty? Who is the observer, what is the observed and who is experiencing the observation?
How do we know and experience who we are? We can experience this in stillness of mind. It is only in pure states of awareness can we begin to glimpse the consciousness that "we are". How do we accomplish this? How do we still the mind. Meditation & breath awareness allow us to be present in every moment and enables us to channelize and still the mental and sensory perception of reality. It is only through pure awareness of energy flowing through all of us can we begin to sense the connectedness amongst us and ultimately the Absolute.
All we are is an expression of Absolute consciousness.   It is our mental propensities and attachments and involvement in karmas that continue to spawn further experiences in rebirths.
When we dream, we relive scenarios, situations and experience characters and impressions. Are these real. Do the characters in our dream have karmas? IF these are as illusory as the dream, then are we awaking into another illusion, or was our dream state real?
“I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?” - Chuang Tzu (Taoist Philosopher -circa 400BC)
